About Project
Mahar Gandayone Monastery school has been operating for over 20 years and is a school where the monks themselves teach the students. Alongside the regular school, there is also a Pariyatti (Buddhist scriptures) study center. It is known that the school also offers etiquette classes, English language courses, and Japanese language lessons. Grade 9 and 10 students are provided with afternoon tuition classes as well.
Because the monks personally teach, the children are polite and well-mannered. The classrooms are small and narrow. Currently, the head monk teaches up to Grade 9 and has plans to extend the teaching up to Grade 10. However, due to some classes having to be conducted under trees, there is an urgent need for additional classrooms.
Due to the school’s discipline and cleanliness, a two-story school building with 10 classrooms was donated.
